It's the 35th celebration of KwanzaaFest!!! On January 1, 1985, the African American Dance Ensemble (AADE) held our first KwanzaaFest in the city of Durham. Kwanzaa is a celebration for all people, focusing on family, friends, and the fruits of the earth.

On January 1, 2020, at the Durham Armory will celebrate with the community Kwanzaa Fest 2020. The doors will open to the public at 12 noon and the performances will begin at 2:00 pm. Durham Armory offer a free venue of quality performances, collaborate with businesses and non-profits; and collect food for the homeless.

They offer health services free to the public, such as blood pressure checks, and on site HIV testing with same day results. Fresh fruits and water served to youth and seniors. Also have a Children’s village with a drumming class and the first one hundred children will receive a “Davis goodie” bag filled with educational materials, toys, and coupons from local businesses.
